About Me

I completed the Master in Architecture program at Cal Poly Pomona in 2019 with a focus on Healthcare Architecture and Planning Design. Prior to my attending graduate school, I completed the Associates in Architecture Technologies degree at Los Angeles Pierce College in 2010. Additionally, I also have an Interior Design Art degree from Art Veresegyhazi Studio (School of Interior Design) which I completed in 2006, and a Diploma in Public Administration from Corvinus University of Budapest (2004).

My husband and I met when we were working together at e7 Architecture Studio in downtown Los Angeles. I served as a 3D modeler intern in the CAD team. He started there as a 3D modeler as well,  and later became a Architectural Visualization manager and served for 9 years at the firm. e7`s architectural visualization and educational kiosk projects were designed to present the sustainable features of new LEED buildings in the Los Angeles Community College District (9 campuses) for the architectural design teams and the College District.

I created 3D architectural BIM models and drafted architectural plans of scanned old construction documents of LACCD buildings. He created 3D site models with landscape elements, textured BIM models, rigged lighting/ modeled furniture, and produced renderings for presentations with images and animations.

We both have worked with software including AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, 3DS MAX, and Rhino, and dealt with the interoperability between different software to combine data and design elements for architectural visualization. In addition, we’ve used Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Suite software to produce presentation products.

He enjoys sharing what he has learned through the years with others. Occasionally, he is teaching in a classroom setting at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. He also joined the M. B. C. VDC team where he creates animation and rendered images depicting stages of construction and conceptual designs of their projects since 2015.

I worked for Permacity Constructions, a solar designer and builder company, in Santa Monica where I drafted solar designs for buildings. Then I worked for VGR, Inc., an electrical engineering company in Woodland Hills, where I drafted lighting plans for high- end residential homes and worked with Lutron control system. I worked at Solana (Interior) Design LLC in Newport Beach, where I detailed high end residential interiors. In 2017 October, I joined the team of Aguilar Architects where I contributed to developing construction documents for school projects and designed media for marketing and proposals. Later in September of 2018, I joined the KTGY Irvine team to gain more experience in multi-family residential architecture design and planning. As a Project Associate and part of the production team, I learned how to assist in creation and coordination with plans, elevations, and section in CAD, assist in completing a set of construction document – and refine drawings with coordination of the other disciplines, apply standards and gain understanding of code requirements, and also to maintain deadlines.

As a big part of my focus in education, I took many design studio classes where  Healthcare Architecture and Planning were taught by Professor Hofu Wu. Designs and plans exercises focused on outpatient facilities, programs were either given or developed by us, space planning was created with understand of identifying best practices, standards, and requirements. Each project started with a research phase, then infrastructure, context and site planning principles were taking into consideration when developed the master plan or a smaller project site. Followed by planning and designing for medical facilities with in conformance with standards, utilizing circulation and layout rules, sizes, safety, and efficiency. Then the design options were developed to Design Development phase where new built or retrofit design alternatives were presented the a group of professional who has many years of experience in healthcare architecture planning – who critiqued and advised our concept, and completion of design set.

As part of these classes, I have attended with my classmates to the Healthcare Facilities Forum in downtown Los Angeles in 2017 and 2018.

As a scholarship recipient, I have attended the CALA Assisted Living conference and trade show in Palms Springs in 2018. Where I met senior living industry operators and developers, gerontology experts, professors, doctors, and specialty speakers. I received great advice and training through different types of workshops, and built relationships through their social events. The information, learning tools, links, and connections that  I received helped me immensely with my thesis research in addition to my education at Cal Poly. My focus on senior living and healthcare design lead to a fulfilling hobby and interest. I still like to keep my days informed and inspired with reading books, research or listening to webinars and podcasts about senior living housing design, multi-generational community and inter-generational living design, community-based care, Alzheimer and dementia care, longevity, etc.

In 2019, my thesis research and architectural community design concluded in ‘The Next Generational Retirement Community’ – book that expressed my understanding of how the built environment impacts our psychological and physiological well-being. How the design of buildings can enhance residents` health, body and brain performance through experience. How the community design with a focus on behavioral and socioeconomic factors can positively transform lifestyle and habits – and this experience result in wellness, enjoying greater freedom and independence for the aging generation longer.

My husband and I both enjoy working in similar fields, architecture and interior design for myself and construction visualization for him. In early 2015, we formed Design Square

cropped-ds_handdrawn_black1.jpgto have the ability to work together on projects as freelancers where we could combine our efforts.
